2011 Voices of Local Film Was a Huge Success, Winners Announced!

The Brown Ultimatum co-directors Don Morton and Chris Ng Mon discuss their film.

The 2011 Voices of Local Film at the Palm Beach International Film Festival was a big hit! We had a great audience, and each filmmaker discussed their films after they screened at the CityPlace Muvico in West Palm Beach, Florida. Michelle Hillery, Director of Operations and Programs at the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission talked about filmmaking in South Florida, while Executive Director Jim York discussed film education at the Palm Beach and Miami Film Schools.

On March 28, Palm Beach Film Society President Heath McKnight handed out the 2011 Voices of Local Film awards during the special PBI Film Festival ceremony in Delray Beach. The winners include:

Best Short/Director: House of Heartbreak, directed by V. Alex Marquez

Best Documentary: The Garbage of Jupiter Beach, directed by Cyndi Lenz

Best Feature/Picture: Confessions of a Paralyzed Robot, directed by Alex Haney

Congratulations to all the 2011 Voices of Local Film directors! We look forward to seeing your future work, and we look forward to more events during the years and, of course, the 2012 Voices of Local Film! Director Cyndi Lenz was nice enough to take some beautiful photos, which you can see here. Also, be sure to Like our official Facebook page.
